I’m really glad you’re here.
I’ve spent decades working in the mortgage industry, helping people through what can sometimes feel like a confusing and stressful process. Over the years, I’ve answered thousands of questions, solved all sorts of mortgage problems, and helped people make confident decisions about their homes.
That’s exactly why I started this blog.
Think of this as having a chat with someone who’s been there, seen it all, and wants to explain things in plain English — without the jargon.

Who Is Mortgage Loop​ UK?

Let’s cut to it.

Mortgages are confusing. Nobody explains them properly. So I started Mortgage Loop UK to fix that. Here’s who I am — minus the name, for now.

I’m a qualified mortgage advisor (CeMAP). I’ve worked on a mortgage broker desk, placing new mortgages for real people with real deadlines. I’ve assessed mortgage applications and AIPs, so I know exactly what lenders look for — and what trips people up.

I’ve handled the calls that come after completion too. The “wait, why has my first  payment increased” calls. The confused ones. The stressed ones.

I’ve given advice to first-time buyers who had no idea where to start. Movers trying to juggle selling and buying at once. People behind on payments, trying to keep their home. And interest-only customers hitting the end of their term with no way to pay off the balance — genuinely a scary situation that comes around sooner than you expect.

So yeah. I’ve seen most of it.

That’s the whole point of this blog.

No jargon. No sales pitch. No pretending it’s simple when it’s not. Just someone who’s actually done this job, explaining things the way I’d explain them to a friend.

Why anonymous? Simple. I’m still working in the industry. This is a side project, for now. One day I’d love to do this full-time — but until then, the advice stays. The name doesn’t matter. The experience does.
